Glutathione injection is a compounded sterile medication that may be prescribed for selected provider-determined uses. It is not FDA-approved as a finished drug product, and its safety and effectiveness for general wellness, detoxification, or skin-lightening have not been established through FDA review.
Black Box Warning
Glutathione injection does not have an FDA-approved boxed warning because there is no approved prescribing label for this compounded product. Serious reactions can result from the ingredient, contamination, excessive endotoxins, incorrect concentration, or improper sterile preparation.

Important Safety Information

FDA has reported serious reactions associated with contaminated or endotoxin-containing compounded glutathione injections, including chills, fever, vomiting, low blood pressure, breathing difficulty, and hospitalization.
Use only a patient-specific prescription from an appropriately licensed pharmacy. Follow refrigeration and handling instructions and do not use a vial that is cloudy, discolored, damaged, expired, or improperly stored.
Seek urgent medical help for fever, severe shaking, breathing difficulty, chest pain, fainting, low blood pressure symptoms, or signs of infection or an allergic reaction.
