Prescribing Information
NAD+ injection is a compounded medication that may be prescribed for selected provider-determined uses. There is no FDA-approved NAD+ injectable finished drug for general energy, performance, recovery, or healthy-aging treatment. The FDA does not review compounded NAD+ products for safety, effectiveness, or quality before dispensing.
Black Box Warning
NAD+ injection does not have an FDA-approved boxed warning because there is no approved prescribing label for this compounded product. Serious reactions can occur from the ingredient, the infusion or injection process, contamination, excessive bacterial endotoxins, or other formulation-quality problems.
Common Side Effects
Common or possible side effects may include:
- Injection-site pain or redness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Abdominal cramping
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Flushing
- Fatigue
- Chest tightness
- Chills or shaking
Important Safety Information
Do not use NAD+ injection if you are allergic to NAD+ or any ingredient in the compounded formulation. Tell your provider about heart, kidney, liver, neurologic, or significant allergic conditions and whether you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
The FDA has received reports after compounded NAD+ injectables involving severe chills, shaking, vomiting, and fatigue, with some patients requiring medical treatment. Some events have been consistent with excessive endotoxin exposure.
Use only a patient-specific prescription from an appropriately licensed pharmacy. Follow storage instructions carefully and do not use a vial that is cloudy, discolored, damaged, expired, or suspected to have been stored incorrectly.
Seek urgent medical help for difficulty breathing, chest pain, fainting, severe shaking, fever, persistent vomiting, low blood pressure symptoms, confusion, or signs of infection or an allergic reaction.
